Naples

This June we celebrate our 10-year wedding anniversary.  We decided to celebrate early with a trip to Italy.  Without the kids.  Grandma (Tolley) came over early for her European holiday and tended the little girls so we could go.  We had a really fabulous trip.

Our first destination was Naples:
Naples is a beautiful city located just north of the Amalfi Coast.  We flew from London's Stansted airport to Naples in just over 2.5 hrs.

A couple fun things stood out to us in Naples:  giant lemons (pressed for fresh juice)

...and the pizza. Actually, we ate pizza several times during our travels throughout Italy, but the Neopolitan Pizza was our favourite.  Traditionally, a Neopolitan pizza would have tomato, mozzarella and anchovies or sardines on top, but we opted out of the fishy toppings for ham instead. Still, there's nothing quite like real mozzarella (not the stuff you get in America) and fresh tomatoes on a stone-baked crust.
