I think we are at our peak for Christmas Cookie variety, so I wanted to post this before they get eaten or given away. From the top going clockwise we have:
Thumbprints: Light, flaky cookie coated in toasted walnuts, topped with a generous helping of red or green frosting.
Turtles: Star-shaped pretzel, smooth chocolate and caramel in the middle, crowned by half a pecan. Yum!
Sugar Cookies: Kid's favorite, can't go wrong. (of course each color frosting DOES taste different- ask anyone)
Holly Candy: Crisp cereal held together with gooey green marshmallow. Sprinkled with red fruit snacks for holly berries.
Spritz: The annual question of "What shape will this cookie press attachment make?" is answered with never-ending awe. The green dough always seems to get used to make Christmas trees. We almost ended up with blue hearts this year, but the press wasn't working right
Mini-Truffles: Oreos and cream cheese center enveloped in a smooth chocolate shell.
Stop by if you need a snack.
Matt

From your wife: Is that all we made this year? It seems as though I've been mixing cookie dough for two weeks solid now...
ReplyDeleteAnd why don't you live by us anymore? We would definitely be stopping by for a snack. I'm envious of your friends and neighbors! :o)
ReplyDeleteHow do you guys like England? What an adventure? How long will you be there? It was fun looking and reading through some of your blog. I was in your ward in Wymount for a couple of months and I was in Matt's ward in Barron--Ruth Bartholomew Robertson, and my husband is Lee. Hope you guys are doing well! My blog is on facebook, under my info if you ever want to check it out. Hope you guys are doing well! Cheerio!
ReplyDeleteI would stop by but have had to many of Lana's yummy stuff this Christmas Season! (but will look forward to next year!:))
ReplyDeleteMy favorites are the turtles and Oreo ball things!!!!
M - I count six different types of cookie. Ever since you tried (unsuccessfully) to beat my ACT score and tried (successfully) to beat my 'vanilla theory' number of dates freshman year, you must be beaten...we've got six now, but I'll make one more type, just to be ahead.
ReplyDeleteL - we've been working on ours for about the same amout of time. They should be easy, but when you try to involve everyone, the going gets a little slower...though it is more fun (but the cookies actually do turn out worse, probably the worst yet...hard, tasteless, etc.), especially things like trying to guess what the 'artist' envisioned when they painted their masterpiece on a santa-with-a-bag (or is that a snowman-with-a-broom, or just swirls of blue, green and yellow?)
Phil - we actually had 7 different cookies... the snowballs got eaten before Matt photographed the bunch. So I guess now you'll have to make TWO more batches of cookies to beat us! -Lana
