and braved the rush-hour traffic on the M25 - nicknamed "the UK's largest car park." Of course, Grams came armed with suitcases full of presents for everyone: everything from crunchy peanut butter to new dresses/clothes for the little girls.

Including all the good eats, we managed to see a lot of neat sites and soak up some authentic British culture during the week. It was great that Grams and Gramps could come during half-term (no school) so the kiddies could travel along with us everywhere, and thanks to Matt for taking a few days off to join in the fun as well. We all had a great time!
The jet-lag was pretty rough for a few days so we took it easy with a few brief walking tours of the village and a trip to nearby Market Deeping where we browsed a large antique shop. Throughout the week we sampled lots of traditional (and not-so-traditional) British cuisine
including Matt's pasties, steak and ale pie, roast parsnips, Yorkshire puddings, sticky toffee pudding, fruit crumble (with fresh, really thick double cream), Toad-in-the-Hole, home-made cheese & raisin ravioli (made with real mozzarella cheese imported from Italy), and our favourite: Linford's award-winning fish 'n' chips (it was so good we ate it TWICE in one week!) We even hired a babysitter one night and the adults all went to dine at The Falcon - one of our favourite pubs in nearby Fotheringhay.
Looks like you had a great time with your parents! They haven't changed a bit! Please tell them I say hello! :o)
