Spring Sun n' Fun

As follow up to our Stonehenge visit, Amy completed a scale model. It didn't take nearly as long as expected and left her trying to come up with ideas for other models she could make.

A week ago there was a luau party at church. Dad tried really hard with the hula and Emily cleverly exploited her size advantage in the limbo- although adherence to the rules was a bit fuzzy.

On Saturday, we stopped by Sandringham, an estate where the queen spends time every summer but didn't tour the house or gardens, just had a picnic on the grounds. (and said hello to a giant wooden squirrel.

The girls were determined to go to Hunstanton beach as we were so close. Although they were not impressed with the long walk required to meet the sea at low tide, they were intrigued by the clam colonies, crab and other fun sea life we saw.

While building sandcastles some friendly girls brought by a few starfish. We'd never seen them in the wild, so that was pretty neat.

It also got windy enough to put the kites to the air, something our old broken kite from last summer did not do very well. Both girls quite liked the tug of a kite at the end of their string. Nothing fancy, but a nice day out.
