Moving In

Moving in: 10-11 September, 2008... we experienced all kinds of surprises and fun: we found the stereo packed inside a box labeled "kitchen tupperware" and the hardware for our computer desk was tucked inside a package marked "pots & pans." Interestingly, the pots and pans arrived with our air shipment two weeks earlier. The best though, was finding the photo copy machine in a box labeled "toys." I guess it's all a matter of perspective! We quickly realized that the movers in America must get paid by the amount of bubble wrap and packaging material they use.
Unpacking the garage was like a really bad Christmas: too many packages full of junk...and where the heck are we going to put this stuff???
Is that toilet paper packed in my gift wrap storage container???
Oh, there's the gift wrap: on the living room furniture, of course!
Somewhere under that pile is our bed...
So after all of this I can't help but wonder: will it be worth the hassle to move back to America someday?

  1. the question is not to move back to the US but on to another place like ASIA!!!:) Hope it is all coming together and the girls are enjoying their toys and making copies of all their important stuff!

  2. Hee, hee, hee! Oh, that brings back memories! It took us (literally) about a month to find some things. Like the shelves for Madeline's changing table. One had somehow gotten packed with a bunch of garbage cans that we weren't using, and the other was with a bunch of pictures we'd decided not to put up... :-)
