Day 9: Giverny...

...home of Claude Monet's house and gardens. I couldn't pass up the chance to see this famous place in person since it is only an hour from Paris and on the way back to Calais. The perfect final destination for our brief tour of northern France; the weather was perfect, the gardens in full bloom, and everything was beautifully picturesque beyond description.

Enjoy the slideshow and if you ever get a chance to visit France, definitely plan to spend some time at Giverny!

From Monet's estate, we headed north - enjoying baguettes along the way (in true French style) - to the beach at Calais where we played for a while until we had to board the ferry back to England.
