By ferry, the journey across the Channel takes 1.5 hours with direct link to the French autoroute (and unfortunately a whole succession of toll roads). It cost us nearly 25 Euros just in tolls to get from Calais to Paris! I suppose when 90% of the cars in northern France are tourists from England, it is wise to make it all toll road and have the Brits pay for it... Aside from the crazy over-crowded congestion at the rest areas, we were able to cruise pretty quickly on our way - love those 130-km/hr. speed limits!!! (81 mph)During our 10-day holiday to France, we logged 1,100 miles - not including the miles we walked each day - and visited 5 different cities, including Euro-Disney. I love that you did it that way, it is quite peaceful on ferryboats. I bet the girls loved it.

Good sharing, I was really apppreciated your blog, ferries are quite comfortable and easy to manage more time and money, I long back i have traveled by ferries to France, at that time ferries are were good and affordable.
ReplyDeleteWhen you book ferry tickets(bilety promowe)enquire about various packages. The packages may include free admission to Disneyland Paris or a fishing license.
